Supporting Neurodivergent Learners

Flexible Education Designed for Students Who Learn Differently

Every student deserves a learning environment that fits them — not the other way around. At Cyber Village Academy, we’re all about supporting neurodivergent learners. Our flexible online and hybrid learning models are designed to meet each student’s unique needs in a caring and supportive way.

Students can choose between our 100% Online Program or our Hybrid Program (Monday–Wednesday at school, Thursday & Friday at home or in school), depending on which environment supports their needs best.

Why Neurodivergent Students Thrive at CVA

Traditional classrooms can be fast-paced, noisy, or overwhelming. CVA’s learning environments offer calm, structure, and flexibility — key ingredients for neurodivergent student success.

We support students through:

  • Predictable routines that reduce anxiety
  • Flexible pacing to prevent overwhelm
  • Smaller class sizes to reduce sensory input
  • One-on-one teacher support for guidance
  • Clear instruction methods that support students’ current needs

These elements help students feel capable, supported, and safe.

Online Learning: A Calm Environment for Focus

CVA’s Online Program is ideal for students who benefit from:

  • Quiet, predictable learning environments
  • Sensory control
  • Independent pacing
  • Reduced social pressure
  • Ability to take breaks or revisit lessons

Online learning allows students to build confidence, develop regulation strategies, and engage deeply with content.

Hybrid Learning: Support + Social Growth

CVA’s Hybrid Program provides structure and community while protecting students from burnout. With three days of classroom learning on campus (M–W) and two online curriculum days (Th–Fri), spent at home or in Study Center on campus, students get the best of both worlds.

Hybrid works well for students who:

  • Want social interaction, but not daily
  • Benefit from teacher and peer modeling
  • Want to transition from online learning
  • Thrive in a small-group community

Hybrid allows students to practice social and executive functioning skills along with peers and with teacher support.

Accommodations, Scaffolding & Tiered Support

CVA uses evidence-based strategies tailored to neurodivergent learners, including:

Accommodations

  • Varied assignment formats
  • Alternative testing space
  • Flexible timelines
  • Visual schedules
  • Quiet work spaces
  • Appropriate support plans (i.e. 504 Plans, IEP’s)

Scaffolding

  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Chunked assignments
  • Visual models
  • Guided practice

Tiered Assignments

  • Different levels of complexity
  • Options for demonstrating learning
  • Extended challenges for advanced students

These supports meet students where they are — and are designed to help them move to the next level.

A Community That Understands

CVA teachers understand the unique needs of neurodivergent students. They communicate proactively and partner with families in creating individualized plans to ensure success.

Students who may have struggled elsewhere frequently thrive when given the right support and environment.
