Hybrid Program

CVA’s Hybrid program blends the flexibility of online learning with the engagement of in-person experiences. Our hybrid model fosters academic success, social growth, and personal confidence by combining the strengths of both worlds in a supportive community.

How CVA’s Hybrid Program Works

Is CVA the Right Fit for Your K – 5 Student?

We’ve structured our school week to ensure every student gets the specific attention and resources they need:

  • Logistics Made Simple: We provide four days of transportation and food service for all students (Monday–Thursday), ensuring your child has the resources they need to succeed during the core academic week.  Friday in-person support is available at our Study Center, so students can attend CVA in-person five days a week.
  • The 4-Day Core (Monday–Thursday): These days are dedicated to high-impact focus on academics and in-person connection. This ensures a school experience that reduces overwhelm while supporting academic growth and individual learning styles.
  • Structure With Flexibility: Fridays at CVA are different. Based on a student’s progress throughout the week, Friday provides dedicated time for individualized support where it’s needed most or an opportunity to dive deeper into hands-on projects started during the week.

Our daughter has grown emotionally and academically --making the A and B honor rolls many times; taking the bus all on her own and advocating zealously for her own needs; and, learning to accept responsibility and consequences. She was not able to go on field trips at her prior school and went to Space Camp in another state with CVA! She has made amazing, huge strides.

My son was diagnosed with very high functioning autism at the age of 11 after many years of knowing he struggled to self-regulate but he was doing very well academically. After entering a traditional middle school, we noticed he became increasingly anxious about managing the loud noise at school, not being able to focus, fast paced social interactions, and general over stimulation by the end of the day. We also noticed the "boom" of socializing happening for his peers he followed from elementary school, but he did not experience that increase in social independence. We looked at many options for schools and decided to shift to CVA. The transition was seamless, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and they seem to really understand him. The school is much smaller, the class sizes are smaller and the general stimulation level is much lower. He has time to connect with peers in a lower pressure environment, get more 1:1 time with his teachers, and be challenged on subjects that he excels in. He has a handful of friends at school and loves the independence of the fusion program. We live a few blocks away from the school so he comes home on Thursdays to do online school work while I work from home. He is able to connect with his teachers virtually if he needs special instruction. He is able to use extra time at home for building projects and mountain biking. The communication from his teachers has been excellent and the attention on his special needs related to autism has been great. I finally feel like I can take a deep breath and know he has found his people and his place for learning. Thank you to CVA and all the great people who make it possible!

My student developed math anxiety during 4th grade and fell behind. When he started 8th grade at CVA his math skills were 2 grade levels behind so he was placed in the ADSIS program to receive additional instruction in that area. After years of stress over math it was hard to believe that he could catch up. Within just a couple of months he was more relaxed about math and by the end of the year he was feeling confident and his math skills were greatly improved.

We haven’t had any major conflicts over schoolwork since he’s been at CVA, I honestly didn’t think it was possible.

My son feels safe and supported at CVA - something that was missing for him at our public school.

He has gained confidence in himself as a student, which he didn’t have at his previous school.
